Program Summary

Calls for Faculty Program After FY2020.

Faculty Program

This program offers junior faculty members and researchers an opportunity to conduct mid- and long-term research at academic institutions abroad. It provides grants not only to junior faculty members themselves but also to their departments, laboratories and other academic units to compensate for their absence. The goal of the program is to foster internationally-minded scholars, who will bring the benefits of their knowledge, experience, and personal networks to their activities at Kyoto University.

Student Program

This program seeks to foster a future generation of globally-minded experts and academics by encouraging full-time students (both college and graduate levels) to study at top-level universities and actively pursue their carriers abroad. It offers a range of short- and long-term programs, including summer/spring programs for college students and credit-bearing courses for graduate students. Students are expected to immerse themselves in a foreign environment and acquire a cosmopolitan culture by, for example, living in residential colleges.

Administrator Program

This program provides early-carrier staff members an opportunity to engage in administrative work at academic institutions and international organizations overseas for a short (from 1 to 3 months) or long (from 1 to 2 years) period. It seeks to develop their global leadership capacities by providing them with holistic learning opportunities to participate in actual work, improve their language ability, and create international networks. The program is open for general administrative staff, librarians, and nursing staff at Kyoto University Hospital.
